New Year's Resolutions
It's the day before New Year's Eve and I'm starting to think about that timeless tradition of making New Year's Resolutions. Typically, I like to make my resolutions throughout the year, figuring why wait until the new year to make yourself better? But I got kinda busy this year and as I reflect on the year that was 2006, here are some of my resolutions to make 2007 even better...
1) Become a better mother. Okay, so I've only been doing this motherhood thing for approximately 6 weeks now but I know I have some areas in which I could improve. What areas you ask? Well, patience for one. Before I had my little darling, I was hands-down the most impatient person in the world. Now, I'm a lot better, but I still have my moments, especially when it's two in the morning and I'm begging the munchkin to go to sleep.
2) Eat better - meaning I will cut out the junk food and drink more water. Since I'm breastfeeding AND I have a wedding dress to fit into in six months, this one shouldn't be hard at all.
3) Be a better friend. I admit, sometimes my friends will call and I'll see the missed call and I'll tell myself that I'll call them back later, once I get a free moment. But then a day will pass and I'll forget and I really feel bad about it. So in 2007, if you call me, expect a call back within a day. Promise.
4) Stop cursing. Enough said.
5) Walk a little closer with Jesus. As a Christian woman, I strive to please God every day, but I know I fail most days. 2007 is the year I get it together.
